Indications

Phenytoin chewable tablets are indicated for the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic (grand mal) and complex partial (psychomotor, temporal lobe) seizures and prevention and treatment of seizures occurring during or following neurosurgery.

Contraindications

When this intervention should not be used

Phenytoin chewable tablets are contraindicated in patients with: Warnings and Precautions (5.5) [see] A history of hypersensitivity to phenytoin, its inactive ingredients, or other hydantoins. Reactions have included angioedema. Warnings and Precautions (5.8) [see] A history of prior acute hepatotox
