Antinuclear Antibody Screen and Titer

This test detects a specific pattern of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in your blood that form a distinctive 'intercellular bridge' appearance under a microscope. This pattern is often associated with autoimmune skin conditions, particularly pemphigus vulgaris. The test result includes a titer—a measure of antibody concentration. A positive or elevated intercellular bridge ANA pattern may indicate an autoimmune disorder affecting skin or connective tissue and warrants further evaluation by a healthcare provider.
