Switch to Ltrl

Bring your SimplePractice records to Ltrl.

Upload your export, review what we found, confirm. Your clients, notes, appointment history, and documents become real Ltrl records — not just attached PDFs. Your upload is deleted when it’s done.

How it works

Three files. One upload. Done.

1

Export from SimplePractice

Download your complete data export and three reports from SimplePractice. We walk you through the exact menus and settings in the help article — it takes a few minutes.

2

Upload to Ltrl

Drop your files into Ltrl. Large exports upload in the background with pause and resume — if your connection drops, it picks up where it left off. Enter your ZIP password if you set one.

3

Review and confirm

Ltrl shows you exactly what it found: how many clients, appointments, documents, and extracted records. Resolve anything that needs your input, confirm, and your data appears in your Ltrl practice. You can undo the whole import for 7 days.

What’s not included (yet)

  • Insurance details — carrier, plan, member ID, and insurance-specific payments. Ltrl is built for self-pay practices first. Insurance import is planned. Insurance columns in your reports are read and noted, never silently dropped.

  • Future appointments — the SimplePractice export does not include them. Re-create upcoming appointments in Ltrl or a calendar-feed import is planned.

  • Cancelled appointments — counted and listed during review, not created as bookings.

  • Recurring appointment rules and availability settings

  • Custom note and form templates — the content of your notes and forms is imported. The blank template structure is not re-created as an editable Ltrl template.

Your data stays safe

Built on HIPAA-eligible AWS services. Your upload is deleted after import.

Encrypted in transit and at rest

Every upload goes over HTTPS through presigned URLs. Files are encrypted at rest with a dedicated AWS KMS key. Imported documents are encrypted in Ltrl's document store the same way as every other client record.

Built on HIPAA-eligible AWS services

S3, KMS, EC2, and CloudTrail — all covered by our AWS Business Associate Agreement.

Your upload is deleted after import

Once the import finishes and passes verification, your raw files are permanently removed from our servers. You receive a deletion receipt with the date and time.

Your password is encrypted and destroyed

If you set a ZIP password, it's encrypted at rest, used only by the import worker, and deleted along with your upload. It's never logged, never stored in plaintext, and never returned by the API.

Nothing reaches your clients

Zero emails, SMS, notifications, or calendar events to your clients during an import. They don't hear from Ltrl until you choose to invite them.

No health information in logs

Client names, filenames, and document content are kept out of our application logs, analytics, or internal messaging.

Everything stays in our infrastructure

Text extraction runs on our own servers. No third-party AI service processes your documents.
